Evolution & Reach

Our Journey

Global Tamizhan Foundation is rooted in more than two years of active, grassroots voluntary service across Tamil Nadu. What began as an organic, youth-led collective organizing district-level marathon runs, mentoring underprivileged rural athletes, coordinating 24/7 emergency blood helplines, promoting traditional Silambam martial arts, and hosting rural health camps was driven solely by pure passion and selfless dedication to humanity.

As community trust and on-ground impact expanded rapidly over these two years, we recognized the imperative need to formalize our efforts into a lasting, scalable institution. This inspiring momentum led to the establishment of Global Tamizhan Foundation as a registered public charitable trust headquartered in Erode—bridging the goodwill, guidance, and strength of the global Tamil diaspora with direct, transparent social action across Tamil Nadu.

Today, our service horizons encompass extensive college de-addiction campaigns, student mental wellness counseling, free evening Silambam coaching, women’s self-defense clinics, highway emergency first-responder training, rural health camps, and certified student social internships. In close partnership with educational institutions, healthcare bodies, and philanthropic partners, we deliver transparent, high-impact programs that uplift underprivileged families, promote healthy living, and nurture a vibrant sporting culture.

Financial Settlement

Refund & Cancellation Policy

Effective Date: September 2026 · Global Tamizhan Foundation (A Registered Public Charitable Trust), Erode, Tamil Nadu

1. General Rule: Non-Refundable Donations

As a registered Public Charitable Trust under Indian law, all donations received by Global Tamizhan Foundation are immediately earmarked, allocated, and committed towards active social welfare projects, emergency blood donor mobilization, and sports events.

Consequently, donations once completed, settled, and credited to the Trust’s bank account are strictly non-refundable and non-cancellable under normal circumstances. We urge all donors to exercise due diligence and verify their contribution amounts prior to confirming any electronic transfer.

2. Exceptions for Technical & Banking Errors

The Trust recognizes that electronic banking failures or accidental glitches may occasionally take place. Global Tamizhan Foundation will review, investigate, and process refund claims under the following strictly verified exceptional conditions:

  • Duplicate Transaction (Double Debit): A banking network latency or technical gateway glitch caused the donor’s bank account to be debited more than once for a single intended donation.
  • Erroneous Excess Amount: An accidental typographical error in the donation amount (e.g., entering an extra zero, such as ₹25,000 instead of ₹2,500) where the donor immediately alerts the Trust.
  • Unauthorized / Fraudulent Account Debit: Verified unauthorized, fraudulent use of the donor’s bank account or payment instrument prior to account blockage, substantiated by formal banking documentation.

3. Refund Claim Window & Required Documentation

Donors must submit a formal refund request strictly adhering to the following protocol:

  • Claim Window: The refund request must be formally submitted within seven (7) calendar days from the transaction timestamp. Requests received after seven days cannot be entertained, as the funds will have already been deployed into grassroots relief or sports initiatives.
  • Submission Method: Send an official email to accounts@globaltamizhanfoundation.org with the subject line "Refund Request - [12-Digit UTR Number]".
  • Mandatory Information & Proof:
    1. Full legal name, phone number, and email address of the donor.
    2. Copy of the bank debit confirmation, bank account statement, or UPI transaction screenshot clearly displaying the 12-digit UTR/Reference number, date, and exact time.
    3. A clear written statement explaining the nature of the error (e.g., duplicate transaction proof).

4. Verification, Audit & Settlement Timelines

  • Verification Stage: Our finance team will review the claim and reconcile the transaction against the Trust's bank statements within three (3) to five (5) business days.
  • Disbursement Timeline: Once the duplicate or erroneous charge is validated, the refund will be initiated directly back to the original source bank account or UPI VPA within seven (7) to ten (10) business days.
  • Method of Refund: Refunds are never disbursed in cash or to third-party accounts; they are exclusively credited to the originating source instrument per Indian banking anti-money-laundering (AML) standards.

5. Cancellation Policy

Because voluntary donations are executed in real time via electronic banking rails (UPI / NEFT / IMPS), a donation cannot be halted, revoked, or cancelled once the donor's bank has transmitted the credit to the Trust. Any claims regarding erroneous transfers must follow the refund procedure described above.

  • No Physical Goods: Standard donations do not involve the shipment, courier, or delivery of any physical commercial goods.
  • Electronic Donation Receipt (E-Receipt): An official digital receipt in PDF format bearing the Trust’s registration details and PAN is dispatched electronically to the donor’s verified email address or WhatsApp number within 24 to 48 hours of transaction confirmation.
  • Delivery Cost: Digital fulfillment is executed 100% free of charge.

3. Physical Fulfillment for Marathon Registrations & Race Kits

For participants registered in organized sports events, including the Global Tamizhan Marathon 2026:

  • Dispatch Window: Race kits are typically packaged and dispatched 10 to 14 business days prior to race day to ensure timely delivery before the run window opens. For virtual runs, finisher medals are dispatched within 7 to 14 business days following the successful upload and verification of timing data (Strava/GPS screenshots) onto the timing portal.

4. Tracking, Shipping Charges & Address Accuracy

  • Consignment Tracking: Once a race kit is dispatched, an automated tracking number (AWB) is transmitted to the participant via SMS and/or WhatsApp, allowing real-time tracking through the courier partner’s portal.
  • Shipping Charges: Delivery fees (if applicable for outstation or special courier requests) are transparently disclosed and itemized during the event registration checkout process. Standard event entry fees generally incorporate domestic standard shipping within India.
  • Participant Responsibility: Participants are strictly responsible for providing accurate, complete delivery addresses, including door/flat number, street, landmark, correct 6-digit postal PIN code, and an active mobile number. The Trust is not liable for delivery delays or returns resulting from incorrect or incomplete addresses.
  • Re-dispatch of Returned Parcels: Parcels returned due to incorrect address or consignee unavailability may be re-dispatched upon payment of nominal re-shipping charges by the participant.

5. Damaged or Missing Parcels

In the rare event that a received race kit or medal is physically damaged during transit, the participant must notify our logistics desk within forty-eight (48) hours of delivery with clear photographic evidence. Upon verification, a replacement kit or medal will be dispatched at no additional charge.
